Quartet added to Team Scotland
Team Scotland added four more athletes to its Commonwealth Games squad on Wednesday morning.
Three marathon runners and a pole vaulter have been tagged on, taking the overall size of the squad to 127, with the number expected to reach 270 by the time the Games start in July.
Thirty-year-old marathon runner Freya Ross achieved the required standard in Japan over the winter. She represented Scotland at the Delhi Games in 2010.
The other marathon runner with Games experience is Hayley Haining, 42. She ran in Melbourne and twice bettered the required time of two hours 40 minutes at the end of 2013.
They are joined by Ross Houston, 34, who posted the required time in Frankfurt in October.
Pole vaulter Gregor Maclean joins the three runners in being called up.
Confirming their selection, Team Scotland Chef de Mission, Jon Doig said: "Many congratulations to latest four athletes selected for Team Scotland following their nomination by scottishathletics.
"Like every other athlete awarded a place on the team, Freya, Hayley, Ross and Gregor have clearly demonstrated their ability to meet the selection standards set and have earned the right to compete for Team Scotland. We wish them all the very best in their final preparations."
