Wales international centre Ashley Beck has signed a new two-year contract with the Ospreys.

The Welsh region announced that the 23-year-old's new deal will see him remain at the Liberty Stadium until 2016.

Beck, who has won seven caps, was this week called up to train with Wales' RBS 6 Nations squad.

He has been capped by his country at all age-grade levels, making his senior debut on the 2012 Australia tour.

"Signing a new contract with the Ospreys is all I wanted," Beck said.

"This is my home region and it's the only place I want to play my rugby.

"As a youngster, playing for the Ospreys was my goal, and I've achieved that. Now, I have established myself here I want to help the region kick on and grow, and I want to play my part in helping the team develop.

"I suppose I've been around long enough to be considered one of the older heads now, despite only being 23.

"We are a young team, especially in the backs, but we've got an exciting mix with a lot of potential, and I am looking forward to being part of this group as it grows over the next two years."

Beck's decision follows that of Wales lock Alun-Wyn Jones to agree fresh terms at the Ospreys, while new signings for next season include Newport Gwent Dragons pair Dan Evans and Sam Parry, plus Worcester's Fiji international back Josh Matavesi.
