US President George Bush is to visit Britain next month during a tour of European nations, the White House has announced.
The trip, from June 9 to 16, is intended to mark the 60th anniversary of the Marshall Plan to rebuild Europe after the Second World War and the Berlin Airlift.
Mr Bush will also visit Germany, Italy, the Vatican, and France, as well as attending the annual US-EU summit in Slovenia.
The trip follows Prime Minister Gordon Brown's visit to the United States last month.
The final day of campaigning is under way in the Crewe and Nantwich by-election.
