Zac-mania has hit London as teenage heart-throb Zac Efron attended the premiere of his new film, Me And Orson Welles.
Hundreds of fans lined the streets outside the Vue West End cinema in Leicester Square as they waited for hours to catch a glimpse of the High School Musical star.
In the coming-of-age drama, the 22-year-old plays a teenage student who, by luck, gets to work with a young Orson Welles.
"I could really relate to the character. I went through a lot of theatre when I was his age," said Efron.
"Everything that happened to me in 10 years happened in one week of his life."
He added: "It's also a great opportunity to do something about Orson Welles - he's an incredible performer on Broadway, on radio and one of the best directors of all time, so hopefully people will be reintroduced to him."
Efron - who acted in theatre productions at school before breaking out in the Disney franchise - said he fancied treading the stage boards again.
"Yes, absolutely, I'm just taking a break. I started that way and it's just a matter of time," he said.
Co-star Claire Danes called him "absolutely gorgeous". She added: "I've grown accustomed to the hysteria that tends to surround Zac and I get it, because he's absolutely gorgeous, but even more than that he's a terrific actor."
Me And Orson Welles, directed and produced by Richard Linklater, is released on Friday December 4.
