Former GMTV presenter Andrew Castle is returning to the early shift after landing a breakfast show slot on Smooth Radio - replacing veteran presenter Simon Bates.
Castle is to host a four-hour weekday programme for London listeners beginning at 6am from next week when the station revamps its schedule, as well as a Sunday morning interview show to be networked nationally.
Former tennis pro Castle was dropped from ITV's early morning show when it was replaced by Daybreak in 2010.
His former colleague Kate Garraway is also joining Smooth for a weekday show beginning at 10am each day.
Bates is bowing out from the station - owned by Global Radio - after his contract came to an end.
A spokesman for the presenter said: "He had a three year deal and everything has been, and continues to be amicable. Simon was aware of the changes and genuinely sends his best wishes to all at Global/Smooth as he has been very happy there."
In addition, Myleene Klass is joining Smooth after becoming an established voice on Classic FM, which is part of the same company. She will present a Saturday show.
Castle said: "I can't wait to get started on the Breakfast show. I'm a big fan of the new Smooth and love the music on the station."
