Hayden Panettiere showed that there were no hard feelings with Tom Ford after she broke with convention to buy a gown by the designer for the Golden Globes.
Ford is known for dressing just one woman at each awards show, and chose Diana star Naomi Watts for Sunday's Hollywood ceremony.
According to US Weekly, Nashville actress Hayden, 24, reportedly broke with the convention which sees designers lend their outfits to celebrities by buying her black-and-white Tom Ford gown.
Asked by E!'s Giuliana Rancic what she was wearing on the red carpet, the actress replied: "Tom Ford. It's the first time I've ever worn him, because I've been begging...
"I feel sexy in it, I feel comfortable in it, and I'm in Tom Ford. I would wear a plastic bag if it was designed by him."
US Weekly said that journalist Jim Shi later tweeted: "Tom Ford confirms to me he ONLY dressed Naomi Watts tonight. Hayden Panettiere BOUGHT her Tom Ford dress at RETAIL. Tsk, tsk."
But Hyaden later revealed on Twitter that she had received a bouquet of white roses from the designer, along with a message of thanks.
The card read: "Dear Hayden, You looked beautiful last night. Thank you for your kind words. Much love, Tom."
