Trio make it to Bake Off final
Frances Quinn, Kimberley Wilson and Ruby Tandoh have made The Great British Bake-Off final.
Military wife Beca Lyne-Pirkis, 31, was sent home in the French-inspired semi-final of the hit BBC Two show, judged by Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry.
The mother-of-one failed to impress the judges in the showstopper challenge when she made a Banoffee Opera Cake .
A sobbing Beca said: "I don't think I need to say how upset I am. I know that in time I'll be really proud of myself to get to this point to get so close to the final.
"I've done so much and learnt so much but it's been the most amazing experience as well."
She later tweeted: "Thank you for the lovely tweets! Those three ladies are amazing & it will be a grand finale."
Clothes designer Frances, 31, psychologist Kimberley, 30, and student Ruby, 21, will battle it out in the final. Kimberley was named star baker in the semi final thanks to her imaginative canapes and a perfect Charlotte Royale in the technical challenge.
However Ruby is odds-on favourite to win the title, according to bookmakers William Hill. Kimberley is the second favourite at 2/1, whilst Frances is the 9/2 outsider.
"Ruby has been the standout performer of the series and we believe that she is favourite to win the series," said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.
