Paul Rudd got into acting because he wanted more attention
Paul Rudd has said it was the birth of his sister that made him want to become an actor.
The funnyman, who stars in Judd Apatow's latest project This Is 40, admits he got into the industry because he just wanted attention.
"I didn't have that thing where I saw Pippin at the age of five and thought, 'That's what I want to do'. I wasn't that kind of actor," The 40 Year Old Virgin actor said.
"I had a sister born two-and-half years after I was.
"I realised I wasn't the only one any more but I could do a little dance or something to get the attention back on myself.
"I'd get approval and have people telling me I'm worthwhile. I think that maybe the genesis of it."
