James Purefoy stars as a serial killer in new show The Following
James Purefoy said his new show The Following has endless possibilities.
The Rome star insisted his new show, inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe, is, "just the best written, the most visceral and the most exciting show."
James, 48, stars as a serial killer who establishes a following of serial killers through the internet while imprisoned. The show is written by Kevin Williamson who James describes as ,"amazingly smart, a complicated and complex mind and not a little bit twisted as well."
The star of Solomon Kane said: "That's really what our show is a reflection of. That macabre that Poe comes up with."
James also visited Comic-con in the lead up to the show, and had a few memorable experiences there. He said, "Comic-con is full of very passionate people, they are incredibly passionate and they are the people who put the word fan in fanatic."
The Sky Atlantic show, which begins on January 22, also stars Kevin Bacon as the ex FBI agent who caught James' character.
