Justin Bieber's former bodyguard is suing the pop star, claiming he is owed more than 420,000 US dollars (£262,000) in unpaid overtime and that he was fired after the singer repeatedly hit him in the chest.

Moshe Benabou filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles on Thursday, claiming that Justin failed to properly pay him overtime.

He is also suing for assault and battery over an incident in October in which he claims the singer berated him and then punched him in the chest.

Mr Benabou claims he simply walked away but was promptly fired.

The former bodyguard worked for the Grammy-nominated star between March 2011 and October 2012.

Justin's publicist was not available for comment.

Mr Benabou claims he was mistakenly told he was not eligible to claim overtime.
