NELSON squandered a great chance to record their second win of the season with a missed penalty four minutes from time against Flixton at Victoria Park.
Nelson created a string of chances in the first half but their best effort, a shot by Sam Heap after 23 minutes brought a great save from Flixton keeper Andy Moore.
At the other end, Chris Thompson looked solid in the Nelson goal but his defence came under increasing pressure as the second half wore on.
Then, with 86 minutes gone, Lee Kershaw was brought down inside the Flixton box and the referee awarded a penalty.
Heap was given the responsibility but Moore got down low to his right and parried the ball away.
