WILPSHIRE’S James Holt came third in the Lancashire Boys 2012 Championship, held at Fishwick Hall on Sunday – as five East Lancashire teenagers finished in the top 10.
Holt ended three shots behind winner James Rooney of West Lancashire after rounds of 73 and 77.
Nelson duo Curtis Clarkin and Niall Ormerod were sixth and seventh respectively, and Ormerod was the halfway leader after a first round 71.
Clitheroe’s Tom Forrest was one shot behind Ormerod in eighth, with Joey Lamb of Wilpshire ninth.
Forrest, with a handicap of five, claimed the best net prize after his superb second round 69.
