Padiham have moved quickly to secure the services of their record-breaking pro Kashif Siddique for another two years.

Siddique, 25, smashed a league record of 233 in Saturday's game against Ribblesdale Wanderers as Padiham amassed a record-breaking 355-8.

And Padiham have rewarded the Lahore skipper with a new deal that will see him stay at the Arbories until 2009 with an option of a further two years.

Club president Brian Shirtcliffe said: "It's tremendous news for the club.

"After his feat on Saturday, everyone at the club were saying we needed to get him signed up otherwise someone else could come in for him.

"So we got the secretary to draw up a contract on Sunday and he signed it.

"This is Kashif's fourth year with us and he's been a fantastic professional.

"He always gets lots or runs and wickets and hopefully he can continue to do that."
