IF the call from Roy Hodgson does arrive then Danny Ings is planning to make the most of it.

The striker is determined that if he does force his way into the England squad that he stays there.

“I’m only 22-years-old still so there is a lot of development to be made myself,” he said last weekend.

“There is a lot of top strikers, I’ve known Charlie for years, he’s a good friend of mine and 13 goals is fantastic.

“He will score at any level for any team and the way he’s going I’d be very surprised if he doesn’t get a call in the next squad.

Of Kane and Berahino, Under-21 team-mates of Ings, he added: “I’ve played with Saido and Harry. They are two fantastic strikers, they’re different and they’re a pleasure to work with.

“We learn from each other. It’s a very strong Under-21s side.

“If an opportunity ever comes up for me I’m planning to take it with both hands, because it’s not about getting a call-up and that’s it, it’s about getting a call-up and then staying in that squad.

“That’s what I’m aiming for.”
