PEOPLE will be able to plant trees in memory of loved ones at a new memorial forest to be created in Holcombe Brook.
The forest will be run by the charity Life for a Life, which will charge a minimum £495 for each tree planted.
The money will be donated to different charities, including Bury Hospice, which will get £150 from each tree.
Chilled food firm Dunsters Farm has donated a meadow, off Longsight Road, as the site for the forest.
The company's solicitor Andrew Taylor, a partner at Woodcocks solicitors, has completed the legal work and arranged sponsorship of signs for the project.
He will also be one of the first people to dedicate a tree at the forest - in memory of his late mother Edith.
He said: "The idea of planting a tree which will live on in memory of someone who has died will bring comfort to people who have suffered a bereavement."
Life for a Life will resurface unadopted Hazel Hall Lane, which provides access to the site, with stone donated by Marshall's of Ramsbottom.
