A man was rescued by the North West Air Ambulance after his car skidded and overturned in Helmshore Road, Holcombe.
Police said the car slipped on slurry left in the road, and flipped over as it left the carriageway, just after 3pm yesterday.
The man was picked up by the helicopter 45 minutes later, suffering what officers decribed as "a nasty hand injury", cuts and bruises.
