HALLOWE’EN was a busy night for Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue Team.

The team always set up a base on Pendle Hill and perform training exercises on the hill in order to be available quickly to anyone who needs help.

The team had just finished testing its new control vehicle on Friday when two men called 999 reporting they were lost on Pendle Hill.

A team, including Finn the search dog, was sent to carry out searches.

There was a worry that one of the men had a possible head injury so a rapid response was essential.

A second 999 call was then received by the police for four men also lost on the hill.

The group said they were uninjured but cold and wet, and that one was diabetic though not suffering any ill effects.

After 30 minutes, the men were found safe and well.

An hour later the remaining two missing people were spotted and taken back down the hill in the control vehicle uninjured.
