PENDLE MP Andrew Stephenson praised the Royal Mail after they delivered a target-beating performance in the BB postcode area in the first quarter of 2014/15.
Royal Mail said 94.3 per cent of First Class Mail was delivered on time in the BB area and 93.3 per cent nationally, against a national target of 93 per cent. Second Class targets were also beaten with 99 per cent of mail delivered within three working days against a 98.5 per cent target.
Mr Stephenson said: “It is great news that the Royal Mail is continuing to deliver a great service – and doing better in Pendle than nationally.”
“I’ve taken a close interest in the postal service since being elected, fighting for the long-term sustainability of a vital service for many Pendle residents.
“People rely on the Royal Mail, often taking the high level of service for granted. I hope these excellent results will lead people to appreciate the fantastic work done by posties here in Pendle.”
