A DANGEROUS grass bank in Barnoldswick has been made safer after MP Andrew Stephenson raised the long-running issue with Pendle Council.
The removal of a section of a wall near a steep grass bank in Westgate prompted an outcry from parents.
They said children were unable to stop running at the bottom of the hill due to the sharp incline, meaning they ran directly into the road and oncoming traffic.
Despite contacting the council, the concerned parents received no feedback. Now the authority has pledged to improve safety measures after visiting the site with Mr Stephenson.
Stephen Barnes, Pendle Council’s chief executive, said: “The council’s property team have met with the residents to review the damage.
“Works to make good the wall have been ordered.”
