ORGANISERS of Saturday’s Colne Gala have hailed an ‘amazing’ turnout at this year’s event.
The procession had been under threat because of a marshalling issue, but after being saved hundreds of well-wishers turned out to applaud the 20 floats. The sun shone as revellers enjoyed an afternoon’s entertainment which included Water Brass Band, a tug-of-war, stuntman Joseph Peace, Colne’s Got Talent, and live music from Cover It.
Coun Neil Butterworth, who helped organise the event, said: “It was an amazing day. The weather really helped bring the crowds out.”
