BARNOLDSWICK Town Council appointed Coun Claire Teall as new chairman at its annual meeting.
Coun Teall, who represents Barnoldswick’s Coates ward, has served on the town council for the past three years and was elected to Pendle Borough Council in a by-election last year.
Proposing her for the position, town Councillor Lindsay Gaskell referred to Coun Teall’s civic pride activities, with frequent litter picking of grass verges and grot spots in Barnoldswick, her work with Barnoldswick in Bloom and enthusiastic support of live music and young musicians in the town.
Coun Teall announced that she had chosen the North West Air Ambulance for the charity she would support with fundraising in her year of office.
