HOUSING developers Persimmon are hoping to have plans for a scheme in Knotts Drive ready for councillors and residents within the next month.

The company held a public exhibition last week when they spoke to local residents about the plans.

A scheme for 203 houses on the land was rejected by Pendle Council last year. Persimmon appealed that decision but the rejection was upheld by the planning inspectorate.

Coun Tony Greaves, in a newsletter to Waterside ward residents, said: “The exhibition at the Primet Community Centre last week did not reveal much and the poor publicity for it meant that there was not a large turnout.

“One thing they confirmed is that they are working on the same application boundaries as last time.

They did say that they would have a scheme ready to present to local people within a few weeks, possibly as soon as a month, and they promised the councillors and Get Knotted officers present that they would do a better job informing people next time.”
