PENDLE residents have until June 15 to pay the controversial new garden waste subscription.
The borough’s 26,000 households will have to pay £25 per year if they want to have their green bins collected by the council from June 30.
David Walker, Pendle Council’s waste services manager, said: “Time’s running out to pay if you want your collections to continue as normal from Monday 30 June, when the new scheme comes into operation.
“The easiest and quickest way to pay the garden waste subscription charge is online at www.pendle.gov.uk/ gardenwaste.
“Payments can also be made in person at Number One Market Street in Nelson and Barnoldswick Council Shop, or over the phone through our contact centre operators by calling 01282 661743.”
Once the subscription service begins on June 30, there will be no changes to the collections themselves - they will still be fortnightly and on the same day as normal.
