A MAN was taken to hospital with a 'nasty lasceration' to his head after being knocked down by a car in Colne.
The crash happened in Vivary Way, between the Boundary Mill roundabout and Crown Way, when the 26-year-old was hit by a Mini at about 1pm.
The road was closed in both directions causing traffic problems throughout the area.
Insp Andy Carter from Colne police said the 26-year-old's injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
