POLICE want to speak with the man pictured in the CCTV image after a checkout woman was assaulted in a Colne supermarket.
The assault took place around 5.30pm on Thursday 21st November 2013 whilst the man was packing his shopping at the checkout desks in Aldi Foodstore Ltd on North Valley Retail Park.
Without provocation the man has punched the 40 year old checkout operator with force to her right arm causing bruising. The offender was in company with a woman and the victim heard the woman ask the man if he hit her on purpose to which he replied that he had and carried on packing shopping unconcerned.
Sergeant Alison Crew said: “This was completely unprovoked with no rational explanation and left the lady bruised and shocked. I would appeal to anybody that knows who this man is to contact police on 101 quoting crime reference FE1302075.”
The man is described as white, about 50 years old, large build with brown hair. He was wearing a long coat and black and yellow scarf.”
