Zombies to crawl along the streets of Colne this weekend
ZOMBIES will be crawling the streets of Colne during a 'thrilling' fancy dress walk for charity.
The spooky goings-on, inspired by Michael Jackson's all-time best selling album Thriller, will see dozens of fans head up and down Albert Road and Market Street on Saturday, calling in every pub along the way.
The King of Pop themed revellers will be doing it all for a good cause, raising funds for Pendleside Hospice as they go.
Sisters Mandy Bradshaw and Linda Heys are behind the walk, which will begin at the Queen’s Hotel, at 6.30pm. Both avid Michael Jackson fans, they came up with the idea of a ‘Thriller’ walk near Hallowe'en.
They said: “We hope to make this a fun annual event with all proceeds going to Pendleside Hospice.
“Fancy walking up and back down the main street of Colne with your family and friends dressed as a zombie? Then get signed up and come along and join in the pre Hallowe'en fun.
“The money raised through the Thriller Charity Crawl will help Pendleside Hospice provide care to local people diagnosed with cancer and other life limiting illnesses.
“The cost of providing care increases year on year in response to demand on services.
“Current annual running costs are £3.7million, of which more than £2.7million has to be raised from fundraising events and donations.”
To book a place on the walk visit the website www.michaeljackson-7.com. Tickets are priced at £5.
