Nelson teenager who attacked a disabled man breached order
3:30pm Monday 18th March 2013 in Pendle
A TEENAGER who flouted a suspended jail term imposed for attacking a disabled man was given four weeks to pull his socks up.
Liam Vyse, 19, had pushed the victim into the path of a van. Burnley Crown Court had earlier heard how Vyse had thought what he did was “quite amusing “ and an onlooker had recorded his reaction on a mobile phone.
Vyse had admitted assault causing actual bodily harm, last July. He had received 26 weeks in detention, suspended for a year, with 12 months, supervision.
He was back in the dock on Friday when he admitted breaching the order. A judge said it was a bit of laziness on his part and the fact the probation service had had the wrong address for him, but he should have contacted the service.
Vyse was given until April 12 to prove he was complying with the order. He was ordered to live at Larch Street in Nelson.
