Boy, 11, suffers broken leg in Brierfield collision

AN 11-YEAR-OLD boy suffered a broken leg when he was knocked off his bike in a collision with a car in Brierfield.

The incident happened at around 6pm on Saturday at the traffic light junction between Halifax Road and Higher Causeway.

Insp Andy Carter said the boy was on his way home for his tea when the accident happened.

He said: “It was an accident.

“The driver was fine and he stopped an waited for the ambulance to arrive.

“The road had to be closed for about half an hour.

“The boy, who is from Brierfield, badly broke his right leg.”
