AN investigation is under way after the death of a 20-year-old man at his home in Burnley.

The body of Michael Anthony Brogan was discovered by relatives at Tuesday lunchtime.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance from the house in Amersham Grove, Kibble, but pronounced dead shortly after 1pm.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surr-ounding his death.

A post mortem examination was due to be carried out today to try and establish why he died.

Michael's family were too upset to comment.

A family friend said they had no idea how Michael died and that they were awaiting the results of the post mortem examination.

Lanehead councillor Ian Stanworth said: "My condolences go to the family.

"This is a tragedy and a terrible thing to happen, especially to a young man of just 20 years of age just starting out in life."

PC Bob Wilson, East Lancashire Coroner's Officer, said efforts were being made to find out how Michael died.

He said: "The death has been reported to the coroner, but it is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesman for Lancashire Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 12.18pm on Tuesday.

"A paramedic crew attended to the patient, who was taken through to Burnley General Hospital."
