Hooligan facing permanent ban from Burnley games

A CONVICTED football hooligan faces another banning order as police try to keep him away from Clarets matches for good.

Norman “Knuckles” Jones is said by police to regularly brag to “whoever will listen” that he is one of the original members of the notorious Burnley Suicide Squad.

Now nearing his 60th birthday, Jones — who has served time behind bars in America — is one of the oldest and most prominent members of what police call the Burnley risk group.

He has already been subject to three banning orders and by an oversight was not banned for life from Turf Moor. His most recent trouble at the club came when he was thrown out after getting in on his son’s cheaper ticket and trying to headbutt a police officer.

Jones, now said to be suffering heart disease and described by his solicitor as “not a well man,” faces the prospect of the latest order when he is sentenced at Burnley Magistrates Court on March 1 for a catalogue of crime which saw him also butting the manager of Tesco.

The defendant, of Williams Road, Burnley, has admitted several theft charges, assault, fraud, using threa-tening, abusive and insulting words or behaviour, racially aggravated harassment and racially aggravated fear of violence. He was bailed for a pre-sentence report and was warned custody was not being ruled out.

Alex Mann, prosecuting, said Jones committed a run of “high end” shoplifting offences. He was racially abusive to staff in Preston Asda when stopped as his accomplice made off with £600-worth of goods. He threatened to knock out and stab staff. Jones was also aggressive to the manager at Burnley Tesco and pushed past him trying to get away with a £291 trolley-load of goods. He headbutted the victim in the jaw, forcing him to go to hospital, and told him he would return the next day. Jones also struck at B and Q in Nelson and Sainsburys.

Richard Taylor, for Jones, said he had an “horrendous“ record, of which he was not proud. Years of cocaine abuse had finally got to his heart and he had heart disease.

PC Diane Murphy, of Operation Fixture, Lancashire police’s football banning unit, said: “A football banning order will certainly make our lives a bit easier.”

Hang on isnt banning Norman for life from football fo a none football offence a bit like banning someone for driving for dropping a piece of litter, wether he deseves to be banned or not surely doesnt mean that the police state can ban him until he actually does something football related ?... innocent until proven guilty springs to mind.
As for stone island you only live once so live it to its fullest. something people from your neck of the woods know nothing about

Markr you truly are a clown.

Let's recap, Norman "Knucklehead" Jone's latest spree:

"He was racially abusive to staff in Preston Asda when stopped as his accomplice made off with £600-worth of goods. He threatened to knock out and stab staff. Jones was also aggressive to the manager at Burnley Tesco and pushed past him trying to get away with a £291 trolley-load of goods. He headbutted the victim in the jaw, forcing him to go to hospital, and told him he would return the next day. Jones also struck at B and Q in Nelson and Sainsburys."

Is that living life to the fullest? Should we all live "life to the fullest" like this? Would society be a better place if we did?

From where I'm sat it just sounds like knucklehead is a complete parasite who has absolutely nothing positive to add to society - nothing.

Absolutely nowt wrong with living life to the full (as long as you don't harm anyone else), but the truth is Burnley would be far better off if this bloke just died. That's the sad harsh truth.

Suicide squad : we are all paid up members of that after recent events.
But when youve followed Burnley as I
have since the mid 70s you get used to it.

Norman : never go to Cardiff, youd absolutely crap yourself and might not get home in one piece!

This bloke is a complete nob, instead of Norman 'knuckles' Jones it should be Norman the Nonce!! He tried impressing me with his stories of when he was a body guard In America and how he shot some guy... Blah blah blah. Even though I was 16 at the time he thought it'd be a good idea to 'meet' up sometime. I told him to take a long jump off a short pier, looks as though he didn't take my advice as he still around trying to act the hard man/grandad. It would be better for everyone if this sorry excuse for a human being disappeared.

Finger bang wants someone to die.Thats nice.

Just incase you forgot in the 60s you had mods and rockers in the 70s you had punks. In the 80s you had football hooligans.

Norman Jones was a hooligan .Just like 1000s of other young men .He is getting on a bit and does some daft stuff. He needs to grow up.

Wishing death of someone is sad.Shame you could not meet Norman in person and say this to him.

Some daft stuff??

"The defendant, of Williams Road, Burnley, has admitted several theft charges, assault, fraud, using threa-tening, abusive and insulting words or behaviour, racially aggravated harassment and racially aggravated fear of violence"

That's a fairly major way off "daft stuff" I'm afraid. And to be doing it at nearly 60 takes a particularly special class of moron as well. The truly worrying thing is the bloke's breeding.

I honestly don't want him to die incidentally, I'm just pointing out the sad harsh fact that Burnley would actually be a far better place if he did die, since he adds absolutely nothing positive to society - he takes but never gives back - a parasite basically. Harsh I know, but sadly true.

Saying you want someone to die is one of the most shocking things i have ever heard.
I hope your mother or your wife does not hear you saying stuff like this.

Its very over the top for a man who has been a fool most of his life.
You should take a good look at your self if your wishing death on people.

Not sure England is the right place for you .Watching folk getting stoned to death in Iran or public beheading in Saudi would be more up your street.

What is wrong with you Finger Bang?
I hope you do not have any children if this the way you want to bring them up.

You clearly aren't grasping this are you. I'll recap again for you though Duke Bar.

During his whole life this chap has done nothing positive for society (if you know of anything then please speak up). Conversely he is huge drain on resources; whether it be police time, the cost of him being in prison etc etc. So the average decent person actually has to pay, via their taxes, for this bloke to carry on like he's a bad teenager - money which could otherwise go on more needy causes. Over and above that his thuggish behaviour, examples of which we have above, has clearly caused a major hassle to many decent members of society. Therefore it wouldn't be unfair to call this man a parasite, because that is exactly what he is - he's a parasite on society.

Now like I say, whilst I don't personally want to see him die, the cold hard truth is that Burnley would actually be a much better place if he either disappeared completely or died. That's simply a fact - not based on emotion or sentiment, just based on what he adds, or more accurately takes, from society - he's a parasite, adds nothing, is a drain on the tax payer, and is a major hassle for those unfortunate enough to have deal with his moronic behaviour. Therefore Burnley would clearly be a better place if he died – that’s the truth. I appreciate the truth may be harsh, but that doesn't make it any less true.

If he doesn’t like the truth of course, only he has the power to change it. If he doesn’t, and let’s be honest at nearly 60 he’s had plenty of chances , then he’s only got himself to blame for this state of affairs. In which case don’t go bleating when people point out the truth – which is society would currently be much better off if he was dead.

If you don't understand that then re-read it again and perhaps you will.

If Norman went to somewhere like Cardiff where there are heavy duty people you wouldnt get a peep out of him. Hed be c***g himself all the time.
In fact he probably knows this and therefore hed never go there. If he did hed basically get torn from limb to limb. Worst place for soccer violence in the UK. Thats why him and his mates in the Suicide Squad wouldnt go anywhere near there.
