The theft, which is now being investigated by police, has put the band’s future in doubt, although bass guitarist David Kostilek said they have managed to cobble together some equipment for a gig at Reidy’s in Blackburn this week.

It was his Peugeot 207 in which the equipment was left outside his home on Todmorden Road on Friday night, when thieves smashed in through the driver’s window.

The 31-year-old said: “I had rather stupidly left some of our equipment covered up and out of plain sight in the car, whilst I went for a few beers.

“It’s put the band on a bit of a knife edge as amongst the things taken were two pedal boards and two guitars which gave our band our own unique sound.

Lancashire Telegraph:

“It’s heartbreaking and such a kick in the teeth, because things have been going really well and we’ve had a lot of gigs recently.

“I was so gutted and felt really guilty about having to tell the others.

“Initially I was thinking it was the end, but we’ll be able to cobble some equipment together.

“Hopefully in the long run we’ll get the stuff back or start collecting everything again.”

The band, which also includes Anthony Cole, Michael Bracewell and Jake Sainty, formed last year and have recently self-released their first album. called I’ve Been Saving All My Catharsis For Exactly This.

The equipment, stolen between 10.30pm on Friday and 5.15am on Saturday, included a modified Fender Japanese Geddy Lee Signature Bass and a Schecter Omen 6 Extreme vintage sunburst guitar.

The band have now taken to social media site Facebook with a poster appealing for information about the whereabouts of their equipment.

Anyone who knows anything about the whereabouts of the stolen items should contact the police on 101 quoting log number 291 of Saturday, February 21.
