A NATIONAL retailer will open the doors of its new store in Burnley this week.

The Range will officially open at the Ashfield Retail Centre on Friday at 9am.

Around 100 jobs are to be created at the store which will be based in the former Homebase premises.

Around 45 jobs were lost when the DIY store, which had been at the site for six years, closed last year.

Among the special guests for the opening include the Mayoress of Burnley, Cllr Lorna Thatchell, and company owner Chris Dawson.

The Range will be offering prizes to the first 50 people in the queue.

The Range has another store at Whitebirk in Blackburn.
