NEVER mind Ladies Day at Ascot, there was just as much glitz and glamour down Harry Potts Way as Turf Moor rolled out the pink carpet for their own champagne reception.

The select gathering has been a sell-out for more than three months as the club’s female diehards enjoyed a three-course meal, the chance to rub shoulders with first-teamers and entertainment from X-Factor finalist Carolynne Poole.

The Lady Clarets supported the event, providing mascots and taking part in a small-sided game at half-time, featuring players from the development squad to the open-age side.

And even though the result on the pitch versus Middlesbrough was not quite what was expected, Ladies Day was voted a hit once again.
