Performers prepare for Burnley Music Festival

HUNDREDS of candidates from across East Lancashire are set to compete for honours this weekend at the Burnley Music Festival.

Around 30 musical performance categories will be contested at Thomas Whitham Sixth Form, Barden Lane Campus, on Saturday and Sunday.

Junior sections ranging from solo and group instrumentals to piano recital, solo vocalist and choirs will have prizes on offer.

And there are also open heats in a variety of musical styles, covering light opera, Victorian ballads, folk songs, operatic solos and musicals.

The festival is organised by a team of volunteers and a similar number of speech categories were held at the same venue last Saturday.

reading some great sarcastic and sometimes impelling comments between Bunlee and rovers fans, this is far better then watching either of our very poor clubs trying to perform with 11 so called players. We ll both get relegated again soon , back to 3000 fans per club
