Nominate rising star for Burnley sport award

PREPARATIONS for Burnley’s Community Sports Awards are well underway, with dozens of nominations already received.
Organisers have also announced that the University College of Football Business is supporting the event by sponsoring the Rising Star award.
The award recognises a young performer already showing the potential to excel in their sport.
This person can be attached to any club, or school in the borough.
Those believing they know someone whose hard work could be rewarded with the award can nominate them for the award by visiting www.burnley.gov.uk/sportsawards for more information.
Other award categories include coach of the year, club of the year, young and adult volunteer, and health champion.
All shortlisted nominees will be invited to the awards ceremony, to be held at The Burnley Mechanics, on July 4. The ceremony will be hosted by Olympic 400 metres athlete Derek Redmond.
