Voters reminded of key poll in Burnley

RESIDENTS living in the Trinity ward of Burnley are being encouraged to use their vote in next week’s by-election.

The by-election was called to fill the vacancy following the death of former mayor of Burnley and Labour councillor Tony Lambert and will be held next Thursday.

Six candidates are standing and a full list can be seen on the council’s website www.burnley.gov.uk under “elections 2012” or at Burnley Town Hall.

Returning officer Steve Rumbelow said: "This is a by-election so it only affects people living in Trinity ward.

“I would encourage everyone who is entitled to vote to use it. The polls are open between 7am and 10pm so there is plenty of time for people to get to their polling station and take part in the democratic process by voting for the candidate of their choice."

You'll soon have to drag everyone to vote!

Politicians have become pitiful. What's the difference between any of them?
