Colne exhibition tribute to Titanic bandmaster

TRIBUTES were paid in Pendle to the Colne bandmaster who died while conducting a band on the Titantic.

A Wallace Hartley exhibition was displayed at the Colne Muni over the weekend which saw residents commemorate the life of the conductor.

In honour of the Colne man who died on the great ship during its maiden voyage in 1912, an exhibition was officially opened with a wreath-laying ceremony at his statue just below the Muni in Albert Road.
