BURNLEY'S youngsters face a mighty assignment on Monday when the Clarets lock horns with Newcastle United in the first stages of the FA Youth Cup.

The date for the Auto Windscreens Shield tie against Hartlepool at the VIctoria Ground is Tuesday, December 10.

Club historian Ray Simpson will launch the 'Clarets Collection 1946 to 1996', a Post-war who's who of Burnley Football Club, at Turf Moor on Tuesday, November 12 (6.30). The launch will take place in the North Stand Banqueting Suite and is open to current and former players and book subscribers only.

Ray's book will go on public sale from the club shop the following day.

Tickets are on sale for Burnley's Division Two fixture at Bristol Rovers on Tuesday, November 19. There is a limited ground availability with 740 spaces available. Rovers are now playing back in the city at Bristol's Rugby Memorial Ground following nearly a decade at Bath's Twerton Park. Tickets for the Muller Road End are £8, no concessions.

Burnley Football in The Community are holding a Soccer and Race night in the North Stand on Monday, December 9.

Six matches plus three races will be shown during the evening with raffle prizes to be won.

The Clarets face Beck's Lincoln City in the FA Cup first round tie at Turf Moor a fortnight today.

Manager Adrian Heath knows what to expect. "Lincoln will be really tough opposition and it's another tin-hat job.

"They are on a good run in the Coca-Cola Cup after beating Manchester City twice and drawing at Southampton. But we know what to expect from a John Beck side. It will be blood and thunder stuff."
