FIREFIGHTERS were in danger of being trapped by a huge moorland blaze.
A team of 30 firemen from Blackburn and Chorley had to trek on foot to the moor at Abbey Village, near Belmont, and used fire beaters to tackle the blaze. But their efforts were in vain as the flames were swept around them by gusts of wind.
