SHORT breaks in the Ribble Valley have been marketed at the popular annual Harrogate Spring Flower Show.
Jane Silvester, tourism and arts officer and Mary Parker, tourist information officer, took turns to attend the show and promote the Ribble Valley to thousands of visitors who flocked to to the show organised by the North of England Horticultural Society.
An abundance of local literature was available, including the annual visitors' guide, the Ribble Valley Explorer newspaper, the Pendle Witches Trail and the Journey to the Centre of the Kingdom, which details a set of circular walks.
Jane said: "We have now promoted the Ribble Valley at several selected garden shows aimed at our target audience and we have been very pleased with the level of interest, both at the exhibition and subsequent inquiries to Clitheroe Tourist Information Centre.
"We have found that customers do not necessarily wish to travel long distances for short breaks, but are rather seeking the quality of experience."
