RECENT worries about dot.com businesses on the old stock market has obviously had an effect.

A new survey reveals that North West parents would rather their children grew up to be nurses, policemen or firemen than dot.com entrepreneurs.

The survey, sponsored by Venturedome, an on-line business service, reveals that only eight per cent of parents in the region wanted their children to make dosh on the Internet, but 44 per cent would like them to be a banker, solicitor or accountant.
