WINNER of the £500 Clarets Foundation weekly draw Connie Murphy is the granddaughter of Burnley's first soccer international.
Jack Yates played for England against Ireland in 1888-9, scoring a hat-trick.
Connie who was born and bred with Burnley football still has that coveted purple velvet cap with gold tassels.
She said: "Jack was my dad's dad.
"My other other grandad Harry Roberts also had a long connection with Burnley FC being assistant groundsman for 20 years."
Jack joined Burnley from Accrington in 1888 and later becoming licensee of one of the public houses close to the Turf Moor ground.
Connie, 72, who lives in the Padiham Road area of Burnley said: "I was a regular supporter at Turf Moor until a couple of years ago.
"I still follow their fortunes but now I listen to commentaries on the radio."
