ST HELENS secured an impressive victory away at Fleetwood Hesketh on Saturday.

The home side had posted a score of 209-8 in 59 overs with Steve Kenny the pick of the bowlers with fove for 62.

Gary Sheppard grabbed a brace of wickets with Adam Friar taking one.

In reply St Helens hit 210-4 in 51 overs with an unbeaten 73 from Craig Horabin, Roger Burrows' knock of 46 and Neil Hull's 30 not out helping them on their way.

Hull hit 14 in one over to win the game.

There was no such sterling performance in the National Knockout area semi final against Kearsley from the Bolton League.

St Helens batted first and were dismissed for 118, with Adam Friar and Neil Woods both top scoring with 26.

Kearsley rattled off the runs reaching 120 in 28.2 overs for the loss of only two wickets to complete a comprehensive rout.

St Helens 2nd team wewre due to play Formby but there was no play due to the waterlogged pitch.

On Saturday, June 16 the 1st XI are at home to Hightown, travelling to Liverpool the following day.

The second XI travel to Fleetwood Hesketh on Saturday with the 3rds making the same trip the following day.
