ORGANISATIONS involved with business, training and education have been invited to help shape the future of learning in Lancashire.
The Lancashire Learning and Skills Council -- the new organisation responsible for all post-16 education and training -- is holding a series of consultation events throughout the county.
For Blackburn and Darwen, the "learning summit" will take place on June 21 at Darwen Leisure Centre between 4pm and 6pm.
Delegates will be involved in a series of workshops covering adult participation and basic skills, young people, retention and workforce development.
Executive director of the Lancashire Learning and Skills Council, Steve Palmer, said he wanted to involve the whole community in education and training.
"This series of consultation events is the first step in consulting with a very wide range of individuals and organisations to ensure that our work is customer-led so that education and training provision is more relevant to the needs of individual learners and employers alike," he said.
Organisations interested in attending should contact either Craig Gooden or Louise Lancaster, Tel: 0845 019 4157.
