PRESCOT & Odyssey CC and local rivals Sutton played out a dull draw at Burrows Lane on Saturday.

Batting first, P&O lost early wickets to the Sutton attack as a slow run rate was matched by the visitors' over rate.

Eventually the home side struggled to 149 all out with the major contributirs being skipper Oughterson (26), McComb (36) and Hayhurst (32).

In reply, Sutton failed to chase even this the modest target and after 17 overs had only put 25 runs on the board for the loss of three wickets.

Then with Sutton creeping towards 100, P&O spread the field to ensure they did not gain the extra point and the visitors ended the day on 91- 5 with Hayhurst picking up two wickets.

Match ball sponsor was Bermans Solicitors.

In the 2nd team clash at Sutton, however, P&O wrapped up victory in style.

Skipper Lockwood won the toss and put the home side in to bat. This worked out well as Sutton were skittled for 109. Pick of the P&O attack was Ian Carson who took 4-21 and twice just missed out on hat-trick chances.

P&O made light work of the response with Neil Lockwood (46 not out) and Bill Ewen (49 not out) sewing up the victory in quick time.

The 3rd team failed to hang on for a draw and were all out for 120 in the last over of the day chasing Saughall's 185-2.

And on Sunday they failed to overcome a strong Wavertree side in the Phil Daniels Cup.

This week P&O's 1st & 2nd teams take on Aigburth, while the 3rds entertain Caldy.
