PAUL Terzis has a few surprises in store for the team that's raised the most eyebrows in the NFP this season.

If Rochdale Hornets are expecting a 'normal' Leigh approach to Sunday's mouth-watering Spotland clash, they'd better think again.

Coach Terzis admits he's got a few tricks up his sleeve to try and out-wit opposite number Martin Hall and which will set the Centurions up for a club record-equalling 14th successive victory.

Clearly Terzis isn't giving anything away in advance of the match of the day in the NFP. But he does say: "Positionally and tactically there will be a different approach by the Leigh side. Let's see how Rochdale can accommodate that!"

The Leigh boss acknowledges that Hornets have been the big improvers in the NFP this season and will be a far different proposition from the side Leigh crushed 48-0 at Hilton Park back in February.

"Their record of 14 wins from their last 16 games tells its own story. It's a run that's given them a great chance of finishing in the top four - and if they finish fourth then we'd meet them again in the play-offs.

"They are a good attacking side with skilful players like Latham Tawhai and Dave Watson pulling the strings. But I'm not sure how they'll cope with the pressure we'll put them under."

Victory for Leigh at Spotland will be the team's 14th in a row - 13 in the league plus Trans-Pennine Final - a figure only matched by the champion teams of 1981-82 and 1985-86. The current record was set by the 81-82 double winners, who won 12 Division One and two Challenge Cup ties in succession between November and February, and was matched by the 85/6 team which won 14 league games in a row on their way to the Division Two title.

Terzis told his team which 17 would be included in the squad earlier in the week but is keeping his formation firmly under wraps.

All he would say is that Dave Whittle (thigh), Andy Leathem (thigh) and Chris Morley (ankle) have been under treatment during the week and that Dave Ingram, Tim Street and Phil Kendrick were back in contention after being rested last week.

"We know that we're in for another tough game, but I'd rather have it like that than have an easy run-in such as Widnes have got. Apart from the York game our closing games in the regular season will all be competitive and will stand us in good stead come semi-final time.

"Sunday gives our fans the chance to go along to Spotland and check out their seats for the Grand Final in July!."
