FOUR people were treated in hospital for minor injuries after two cars were involved in a road collision.
The incident happened at the crossroads outside the Britannia pub, in Haslingden Old Road, Oswaldtwistle, about 8pm yesterday.
Derek Sentance, 65, of Wordsworth Close, Oswaldtwistle, was driving a Rover 820 and was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary with chest injuries.
His wife, Kathleen, 53, who was a passenger in the car was treated for shock.
The driver of the Nissan Micra, Shakeel Khan, 23, of Radcliffe Street, Haslingden, suffered injuries to his neck and wrist and his passenger, Mohammed Ijaz, 26, of Sunnybank Street, Haslingden, injured his shoulder and chest.
Paramedics and fire crews attended the scene and there was slight road congestion while the debris was cleared.
A spokesman for the road policing unit at Accrington said they were still investigating the cause of the accident.
