A VILLAGE was plunged into deeper despair today as government officials confirmed another case of foot and mouth.

Old Hall Farm, West Bradford, near Clitheroe, is the latest site to fall victim to the disease.

The Bowland Gate Lane site is now the third farm in West Bradford to be plagued with the outbreak and today slaughtermen were in the process of culling the farm's 51 ewes and 74 lambs.

The news comes on the day another case at Swinden Moor Head Farm, Hellifield, near Skipton, was also identified as being infected.

This now brings the total of foot and mouth cases in the Settle and Clitheroe area to 72.
