BURY'S Rostrevor Hotel, which was on the market with a £350,000 asking price, has been sold for an undisclosed sum.

The sale was conducted by the Manchester office of international hotel agents, Christie & Co.

Now the Rostrevor, located in Manchester Road, Bury, has been sold on behalf of Alan and Denise Fletcher to Peter and Michelle Graham.

Peter and Michelle hail from Yorkshire and Lancashire respectively but have spent recent years based in Surrey while working in the corporate restaurant industry.

Prior to that, the couple owned a publikc house and as such will bring with them a wealth of experience in this already-established hotel.

Alan and Denise have spent 19 successful and happy years at the Rostrevor Hotel and now plan to semi-retire although staying in the local area. Although planning to maintain the welcoming family-run atmosphere, the Grahams have a number of new ideas which they envisage introducing during the next 12 months.

These include accommodating business meetings and lunches with professional catering courses also based at the hotel.

Paul Barrasford of Christie & Co said: "Recent months have seen a notable increase in the already high demand for Greater Manchester-based hotels.

"The region's well-documented and rapidly rising prosperity, coupled with the city's status as Commonwealth Games host, makes already successful commercial such as the Rostrevor even more appealing to a wide number of prospective purchasers."

The Rostrevor Hotel comprises 14 en-suite bedrooms, lounge bar and restaurant.
