POPULAR Atherton pub The Rope and Anchor will be hosting a charity evening to raise cash for the study of infant death.
Landlords Shirley and Terry Miller raised more than £1,000 last year and are hoping to increase the total this year for the recipients, Foundation for the Study of Infant Death, at the event at the pub tomorrow.
Admission is free to all customers, who can expect an evening of entertainment with guitarist and comedian Bobby Dazzler, fund-raising raffles, and the chance to win a television as a prize.
Mr Miller said: "We are always looking to arrange evenings for our customers to enjoy. The FSID contacted us about a fund-raising evening and we were only too happy to help support their cause. And our customers are also happy to support the event."
The Rope and Anchor is supported by pub owners, Pubmaster. "Many of Pubmaster's pubs are at the heart of their communities," said Pat Caslin, Pubmaster regional manager. "We actively support and encourage activities such as this which help to build and develop a sociable atmosphere and community spirit."
